FOUNDATION ONLY PERMIT
DECLARATION
This letter is a clarification of the liability of the County regarding the issuance of a "Foundation
Only" permit for:

Fees for “Foundation Only” permit will be as follows:
Foundation only Building Permit Fee: 50% of the total permit fee (Parent Permit).
Foundation only expedited plan review fee: (Based upon actual hours to review with 1 hr
minimum) ____________________.
Limits of work for a foundation only permit for this project:
A "Foundation Only" permit allows underground site work, including underground electrical, plumbing,
and/or mechanical and the placement of concrete foundations and on-grade slabs. No other structural work
is permitted except for placement of foundation plates.
1. I, as "Owner and /or Contractor" understand construction on the above project must
commence within 180 days of permit issuance. If work is not commenced or if work is
suspended or abandoned at any time for a period of 180 days, the permit will expire and
become null and void.
2. I, as "Owner and /or Contractor" understand that issuance of this "Foundation Only" permit
does not extend the primary plan check application, which expires 1 year after application.
3. I, as "Owner and /or Contractor" further understand that upon issuance of this "Foundation
Only" permit, I/we may proceed at my/our own risk without assurance that the primary
permit for the entire project will be granted.
4. I, as "Owner and /or Contractor" hereby agree that said permit is a preliminary permit and
any subsequent requirements by the County upon further review of plans for additional
footings, holdowns or grading alterations shall be the sole responsibility of the Owner and /or
Contractor. I/we further acknowledges that he/she will install any subsequent alterations
required by the County at his/her own cost, in order to comply with the "Final Approved
Plan", and hold the County harmless for any discovery of said requirements between the
issuance of the "Foundation Only" permit and the "Final Approved Plans" and permit.
