Dear Supervisor Lambert,
I’d like to share with you how we are improving our Stanley Park Community. Our group has
grown in numbers as well as experience. We have organized a Facebook page and a Go Fund
me account to publicize our mission and to inform other interested groups and parties of our
purpose. I have provided the link to our sites as well as a fable, maybe even someone on this
list wishes to donate, or at least spread the word. I will inform you of our next neighborhood
meeting in the hopes that you might come to hear our concerns and have the opportunity to
express your own.
We feel that the issues we have presented were dismissed by Staff as well as a few of the
Commissioners. For example, when our presenters were talking, the Chair was seen reading a
document and not listening, while another was on his phone. The semblance of concern is at
the very least considered polite. The people deserve to be heard, the appointed officials
need to perform their duties in a professional manner and elected officials need to
understand that the voter has power too.
Thank you,
George Sipple

It began when the big, bad developer and his engineer decided to purchase an oldfarmhouse and all the land attached to it. The problem was that the land wasadjacent to farming and there was a pesky 300 foot setback for residentialdevelopment. Enter the minions, otherwise known as Staff. If we approve a 150 footsetback and absolve you from having to fill out an unusual circumstances review, then you can build whatever you want. So the scenario is set with coercion andmoved forward without regard for required procedure.
Scene 2, the good guys find out what the evil developer has planned. They ride in ontheir tractors in green shirts and slay the project with their banner for farming rightsand preservation of habitat. The enemy slinks away only to strike back another day.He and the minions decide that they will create something so horrible that all thegood folk will rue the day they tried to interfere in his world. He will build a“clustered development” and destroy the very essence of their community by takingaway their quality of life and neighborhood character. He will doom them to live in anunsafe environment where the good people can’t walk safely in their streets or driveunharmed by excess traffic….and he will do this all with the help of the minions. Yousee the minions are afraid of what the developer will do if he doesn’t get his waybecause they assured him that this was going to be a profitable deal for him at thebeginning.
Scene 3 is set with the developer and his engineer presenting their idea before thePlanning Commission. The minions smirk and snicker at the good folk as they try tostand up for their community. Woefully, they were turned back at their challengebecause the Big 3 had decided to protect their minions too and were also afraid ofthe developer. Only one brave and honest soul dared to stand up for what was rightand true, while the others hid under the cover of indemnification and cowardice. Shekept the fire of hope alive.
The good folk are dismayed that the institutions created to help their communitieshave given their power over to their fears. It is with disappointment that they leavebut that won’t deter their resolve to save their neighborhood. They will gather whatthey need and go back again.
The story does not end here because it is still in creation. What begins in deception
