I am writing this letter to provide approval for the alternate construction methods used at the
above mentioned project. The first item to address is the shear wall schedule. The shear wall
types called outs on the plans shall be equated to those called out on the S 1 sheet in the following
manner: Shear wall type 1 equals Shear wall type A, Shear wall type 2 equals Shear wall type B,
Shear wall type 3 equals Shear wall type C. The lettered shear wall types conform to CBC, 2007.
The second item to address is the shear wall length on the wall at the front of the house. This
shear wall has been designed to be a 16' perforated wall that includes the 2040 bathroom window.
The supporting calculations are provided in the revised calculation package dated 4/02/08.

project. The required roof ply nailing in the field and to the eave blocks as required per the
approved plans was provided and verified prior to being covered by roofing materials. If you
