We contacted both the Chico office and the Oroville offices immediately following the personal visit and notice left on our door. When these telephone contacts were made, we left messages for the inspector to return our calls. These ells were not returned by your inspector. We do agree that a permit was taken out by us and is dated 4/18/86 for the construction of an outside redwood deck. Originally, we were told that a permit was not needed, then we were informed that one was needed after we had begun the project which resulted in the above notated permit. We did renew the permit hoping to be able to finish the project. No other construction has been done since the original permit was taken out as we have not had sufficient funds to work on the project. Must we finish this project or can the project be modified so that everyone can be satisfied? Is there a reason we have not received a return phone call from your inspector? Lastly, is a permit needed for this type of deck or could we modify our pians so that one would not be needed? (The conflicting information we have received in the past has to do vAth attachment of the deck to the house.)
