The inspection was made as part of the rehabilitation project currently underway in the Chapmantown area south of Chico. The dwelling is a wood frame structure, without a concrete perimeter foundation; with wood siding, and composition roof. There is an attic space over the central portion of the house. There is a water heater located outside in a shelter, and it lacks a temperature; -pressure relief valve, discharge line, and venting. Wir- ing serving -various house circuits is exposed and unprotected from breaker box to under house. There is a wood stove in the kitchen with inadequate clearances from combustibles. There'is also a range without proper flue (combination wood stove and gas). Plumbing in-laundr.y:appears to lack trap, kitchen sink plumbing is not vented. Porch floor is deteriorated. Rear stairs -need handrail. Dwell- ing is served'by septic tank, community water, electricity and nautral gas. In order to rehabilitate the dwelling under this program the following will be required. 1. Check sewage disposal system for condition and capacity to serve the total number of bedrooms in --the dwelling. Replace if necessary: 2. Provide an adequate under floor support system by adding piers and girders as required and replacing all damaged materials. Remove and replace all damaged or deteriorated floor joists, sub floor and floor coverings. Provide adequate under floor ventilation and crawl space. 3. Make all windows and, iidoors�operable and weathertight'.-keplace damaged or deteriorated materials in walls and make all exterior walls weathertight (including attic area). Check roof covering for leaks, replace all damaged or deteriorated sheathing and supports and materials. Provide adequate ventilation. Install insulation to R-30 standards. 5. Provide protection for exposed wiring circuits at breaker box. Remove and replace existing deteriorated or damaged wiring, outlet boxes and fittings, unprotected wiring, open or exposed splices, etc. Provide additional out- lets as reguired and do general electrical cleanup. 6.
