Since permits and inspections are required for the above work, please contact this office within ten days of the date of this letter, submit two complete sets of plans, apply for the required permits, and pay the appropriate fees. All work must stop until these permits are issued and you are authorized by our field inspector to proceed. This field authorization cannot be made until the existing,work is inspected and approved. Please be aware that Butte County has entered into a Code Enforcement Program that seeks voluntary compliance with the Butte County Code but provides an effective means of enforcement if such compliance is not obtained. If voluntary compliance is not obtained, enforcement will be pursued through the issuance of citations, fines, and the recording of a Notice of Violation. The conversion was constructed without,permits and inspections from this office, so we were notable to -perform the required inspections,during construction. We therefore made a reasonable visual inspection, without going on the roof, under the building, or. in the attic ' and found the conversion appears to conform to the intent of the code requirements, except for the following items which must be done or resolved: (1) The additional living unit requires a use permit in an AR zone, contact the Planning Department for information on use permits. (2) Verify adequate sewage disposal from the Environmental Health Department in Chico-... (3) Provide safe wiring (ie adequate outlets and G'.F.C.I. protected) in the kitchen area. (4) Provide a vent on the water heater with adequate clearance slope rise and height above roof. (5) Provide minimum of 6" wood earth clearance around the exterior of the building. (6) Remove and replace all dry -rot on the roof and lower portions of siding. (7) Provide an'approved heat source for the building.
