Box 7172 1188 East Ave. Chico,'CA 95927 Chico, CA THIS LETTER SHALL BE CONSIDERED PART OF THE APPROVED PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THIS PROJECT. A COPY OF THIS LETTER SHALL BE ATTACHED TO THE APPROVED PLANS. The plans for the construction of the above food facility have been reviewed for compliance with the California Uniform Retail Food Facilities Law and are approved with the following CORRECTIONS, UNDERSTANDINGS, and ADDITIONS: 1. Provide at least 50 square feet of non -refrigerated shelves that are easily cleanable, non-. absorbent, durable, and at least 6 inches off floor. Counter tops shall be smooth and impervious. Cabinet/counter structures shall be of easily cleanable, non-absorbent, tight fitting construction. 2. All food related equipment shall be certified as being in compliance with an ANSI approved food sanitation standard (such as NSF standards) and shall be suitable for the intended use.. For utensil washing provide a three compartment stainless steel sink, with dual integral stainless steel drainboards. Sink compartments shall be large enough for largest utensil. It is understood'that there will be no cooking except for heating foods up in small electric oven. 3. Provide adequate amount of hot and cold running water from a mixing faucet at all sinks. Hot water shall be available to all sinks within 30 seconds. Pipes and conduits shall be enclosed wherever possible. Where such pipes and conduits are exposed, they shall be at least six (6) inches off the floor. 4. Mop sink shall be of commercial quality. Provide separate storage facilities (that are away from food or food containers) for cleaning supplies. 5. Provide soap and sanitary towel dispensers (or hot air blowers) at all handwashing sinks. 6. Provide adequate ventilation for restrooms (fan or screened window). Provide adequate general ventilation for prep areas. Jumpstart Coffee Plan Approval 2-10-05 page two 7. Provide smooth, easily cleanable, durable, non-absorbent, walls, ceiling, and self -coved floors in restroom, kitchen, and dispensing area. Top set coving , textured gypsum board, grooved wall panels, textured wall paper, fissured ceiling tiles, or other hard to maintain materials are not acceptable in such areas. 8. Lighting shall be easily cleanable and have shatter proof shields in areas where food is prepared, open food is stored, and where utensils are washed. 9. Meet all other applicable requirements of C.U.R.F.F.L. At least one person working at the food facility shall have passed an approved food safety test. Submit application and fee for health."Permit To Operate" and obtain such permit prior to opening. Call for an inspection by this Department when most of the work is completed and then for final. For final inspection; make sure hot water heater is on and at proper temperature, and that all refrigerators/freezers are operational and at proper temperatures.
