Prior to any construction, Pacific Gas and Electric Company should be required to: 1. Conduct a survey of rare or endangered plant and animal species in all areas to be affected by the project and prepare a plan to compensate for any habitat losses. Plant studies must be conducted in the spring months. 2 Conduct a survey of wildlife habitat affected by -the project and a plan to compensate for any habitat losses. 3: Evaluate the erosion potential and develop an erosion control plan to prevent sedimentation and siltation of Butte Creek. The proposal must include plans for reveg, etation developed and monitored by a qualified horticulturist. 4. Design powerlin:e systems to py,event any hazard to raptors. Given the temporary nature of the construction tr°af W i c, this impact is riot significant. 16a: The proposal will result in,a .4 -acre switchyard. The now switchyard'will enable Feu and E to accommodate increased power, generated by a system -wide upgrade This upgrade includes Improvements to canals, a new siphon in the canal system, a new powerhouse at De Sabl_z, and the replacement of thke existing Centerville Powerhouse. Without-, an enlargement to the switchyard, the new powerhouse would h.,. -)t be possible. PG and E has also indicated that the switchyard will carry non -PG and'E-produced power. 15: The switchyard towers will be visible from Centerville Load. Pole height ranges from 20 to 31 feet, the top; 14 to'20 feet of which will be visible from the roach. The switchyard will also be visible from a homesite to the south. It is recommended that the site be screened with native vegetation such as Oak's, Pine, and Cedar. 20b. Archaeological surveys have boon prepared on this project as part of the overall rel i cense project. Centerville Powerhouse and appurtenant structures are considered historlcaillY ;ignifldant.
