This is a proposal to divide 32+ acres into 2 parcels.. The present
zoning -is FR -5 (Foothill Recreational,- 5 acne parcels)`. The Land
Use Plan Map of the Butte County General Pian designates this area
as Agricultural -Residential; There are no;ecifc or community plans
for the area.
The proposal,; does not conflict with County zoning nor any adopted or
proposed element of the Butte County General 'Plan nor any County,
specific or community plan.
Approval is recommended subject to adoption of the following mitigation
measures:

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The proposed project is for a boundary
Line, modification and division of 23.7 acres of land into
two parcels,
PROJIECT LOCAT!ONa The project site is located adjacent to
the south side of Humbug Road approximately 1.0 miles east
of the intersection with the Skyway, southeast of the City
of Chico. The property 'Covers a portion of the NEI; of
Section 49 T. 21 Nio R. 2 E., Chico Quadrangle, 7. series

PRIOR DATA R.EVIEWi Prior to conducting the field survey the
archaeological site record files maintained by the Northeast
Information Center of the California. Archaeological Survey
were consulted to determine if any previously recorded
cultural resources worelocated within, or adjacent to, the
project area. No previously recorded archaeological sites
had been recorded within the project boundaries and the
nearest recorded site is CA-BUT--623, an historic rock wall>
located to the west of,the project area:

ENVIRONMENTAL SETTING: The property is a generally level
piece of land located along the north bank of Butte Creek:
The majority of the property area haS previously been disturbed
by gold dredging and only a thin strip of land along Humbug
Road was undisturbed by this; activity. Crouch Ditch flows
along the northern boundary. Other modifications ;to the
esidence and a small pond located

SURVEYM%THODOLOGY= The foes of the field survey was a
visual inspection of the ground surface for materials or'
features indicative of prehistoric or early historic
activities, All portions of the`praperty undisturbed by
gold dredging were in by walking transects with a
five meter interval spacing over the entire area. The area
covered by tailings, was, inspected by walking transects with
