Fire Service Connections, Underground Mains, Fire Hydrants, existing (E) piping & equipment, etc. beyond Contract Limits are assumed to be complete, functional, and in accordance with NEPA #13, 14, 24, 72, 231, 231C, NFC and local requirements. Do not connect, nor allow connection of, this work by others, prior to recieving a copy of the properly "signed—off" Flush & Test Certificate. Contract to start at base of riser, 2.) All Devices & equipment for Fire Protection Service, being installed under this Contract, are to be new, listed by U.L. &/or approved by Factory Mutual, and acceptable to the Butte County Fire Prev. Department. Installation and workmanship will comply with device & euipment listings, and conform to generally accepted industry standards for Fire Protection Systems. 3.) All Electrical Alarm wiring is being provided by others, and is not part of this contract. All work relating to the Fire Protection System is assumed to be complete, functional, and in accordance with NEPA #13, #20, #70, NEC & all state and local requirements. 4.) Building design & construction are outside of the scope and responsibility of this contract. It is therefore assumed that the structure is designed to support any general &/or specific roof loading necessitated by the installation of the system shown on these plans. Further, any engineering analysis &/or building component reinforcement or testing will be by others. 5.) All piping is shown in preferred approximate location. Flnal locations will be determined by field conditions. Minor variations are to be expected and will not adversely affect the systems performance. Any other changes must be revievved for impact on the affected area, prior to proceeding with the change. Changes may be covered by further documentation ("As—Built" Plans). 6.) 2" & smaller pipe is to be Dyna -40 threadable steel sprinkler pipe with black screwed C.I. (or D.I.) 125#ss/175# fittings, or welded outlets and grooved couplings. Grooved 1-1/2" & larger pipe is to be Dyna—Flow steel pipe or equal (except where shown otherwise) with grooved or flanged (125#ss/175#), welded or mechanical fittings/outlets, and grooved couplings. Typically, rigid Victaulic "Firelock" grooved couplings are to be used on all Main. -piping, except where flexibility,, is needed. Grooves in light weight pipes are to be rolled, not cut. 7.) Hanger locations are to be in accordance with NEPA #13-96, Sec. 2-6, Sec. 4-5.2, .2, .3 & Table 4-5.2.2.1. Apply Appendix " A " as necessary but 15 foot on center is maximum. Due to building:; structure style all hangers will be on maximum 12 ft. 6 inch centerlines. i_ 8.) Seismic sway bracing size and fasteners are to be in accordance with NEPA #13-96.
