We currently live on a six acre parcel on Butte Creek. Our zoning is forest -recreation five acre minimum. We have a building that we originally planned to; and still plan to, use as an art studio (stained glass and oil painting) and canning center (so that our main kitchen wont get too hot during the summer canning season). A neighbor asked if their newly married daughter could stay in the studio until her husband was transferred in February in exchange for yard work. Since all of my wife's current time is being spent on landscaping and finishing touches on the house (painting, wallpaper, ...) .and little time is currently left for art work, we agreed. To us, such an agreement does not violate the intent of our zoning but does violate the letter of the law. What we request (as discussed over the phone) is a reasonable time in which to have the studio vacated and returned to its intended use. Given the situation, we hope that you will agree with us that a reasonable time would be by the end of February. If not, please let us know as soon as possible so that the couple in the studio will have time to alter their plans.
