EXPIRATION OF APPLICATION
Applications for which a permit has not been issued will expire one year after date of application. In order to renew action
on an application after expiration, a new application, plans and fees will be required.
REQUEST FOR FEE REFUNDS
Ketunds can oniy be made upon written request by the person who paid the fee. The request must be made within two
years from the date of fee payment on permits not issued, and two years from the date of permit issuance for permits
issued; however, on issued permits refunds can only be made if no construction work has been done. Filing fees, plan
,heck fees for work plan checked and other department costs are not refundable.

For your protection, you should be aware that as "owner -builder" you are the responsible party of record on such
a permit Building permits are not required to lie signed by property owners unless they are personally performing their
own work If your work is being performed by someone other than yourself, you may protect yourself from possible
liability if that person applies for the proper permit in his or her name.
Contractors are required by law to be licensed and bonded by the State of California and to have a business
license from the city or county. They are also required by law to put their license number on all permits for which they
apply
If you plan to do your own word; with the exception of various trades that you plan to subcontract, you should
be aware of the following information for your benefit and protection:

Under authority of Public Resources Code Sec. 4290, the following checked items are required
by the Butte County Fire Department and made a part of this permit. These requirements are
minimums and may be superseded by Butte County local regulations, which equal or exceed
these standards. Butte County Building Inspectors will make compliance inspections.
Driveway Standards
PX] Surface. All driveway surfaces and structures (bridges, culverts and other
appurtenant structures which supplement the roadway bed or shoulders) shall
provided unobstructed access to conventional drive vehicles, including sedans
and fire apparatus weighing up to 40,000 pounds.
pq `I Grade. Not to exceed 16 percent unless -paved.
Drivewav Radius
PX] No roadway shall have a horizontal inside radius of curvature of less than 50 feet
and additional surface width of 4 feet shall be added to curves of 50-100 feet
radius; 2 feet to those from 100-200 feet.
PX] The length of vertical curves in roadways exclusive of gutters; ditches and
drainage structures designed to hold or divert water shall be not less than 100
feet radius.
PX] Turnarounds. If required, will have a minimum turning radius of 40 feet from the
center of the road.
[X] Turnouts. Shall be a minimum of 10 feet wide and 30 feet long with a minimum
25 -foot taper on each end.
PXj Width. All driveways shall provide a minimum 10 -foot traffic lane and
unobstructed vertical clearance of 15 feet along its entire length.
pq Turnouts. Driveways exceeding 150 feet in length, but less than 800 feet in
length, shall provide a tumout near the midpoint of the driveway. Where a
driveway exceeds 800 feet, turnouts shall be provided no more than 400 feet
apart.

they serve.
2. The gates must be located at least 30 feet from the roadway and
shall open to allow a vehicle to stop without obstructing traffic on

tank with inlet tee and epoxy seal for water test; fill the tank with water 2" into riser, and
let sit for at least a day before calling the inspector to start the test. Backfilling around
the tank is not recommended until the tank passes (or leave at least top three feet (3') of
tank exposed).
4. Install risers with a watertight seal (no water should enter tank).
5. Test run of pump for final inspection. Pump may be installed prior to tank tightness test,
however, if tank fails water test, the pump may require removal. Allow inspection of

Under authority of PRC 4290, the following checked items.are required by the Butte County Fire
Department and made a part of this permit. These requirements are minimums and will be
superseded by Butte County local regulations which equal or exceed these standards. Field
inspections will be made by the Butte County Building Department for compliance.
[X] 1272.00 Maintenance of Defensible Space. To ensure continued maintenance of
properties in conformance with these standards and measures and to
assure continued avail -ability, access and utilization of the defensible
space provided for in these standards, annual maintenance must be
provided for by the land owner.
Driveway Standards
[X] 1273.02 Surface. All driveway surfaces and structures 1273.07 (bridges,
culverts and other appurtenant structures
which supplement the roadway bed or shoulders) shall provided
unobstructed access to conventional drive vehicles, including sedans
and fire apparatus weighing up to 40,000 pounds.
[X] 1273.03 Grade. Not to exceed 16 percent unless paved.
1273.04 Driveway Radius
[X] 1. No roadway shall have a horizontal inside
radius of curvature of less than 50 feet,and additional surface
