"The use or occupancy of any building in violation of any of the provisions of this chapter.is hereby declared to be a public nuisance and may be abated in a manner provided by law.." Section 1-7 of the Butte County Code provides that any violation of any provision of the Code constitutes a misdemeanor, or in the discretion of the District Attorney, be charged as an infraction. -The penalty for a misdemeanor is punishment by a fine not exceeding $500'.00 or imprisonment.
