RE: Special Inspection f35-85
AP #21-02-03
With reference to the above subject and your proposal to move the house/duck club
building on your property off the South side of Gridley Colusa Hwy just East'of
Butte Creek, the requested inspection was made on October 1, 1985.
The inspection revealed the following items which must be done or resolved if the
building is to be relocated:
(1) The property is within the Fedekal Flood Hazard Zone A, which will
require the floor level of the building to be placed at or above the 100 year
flood level.*
A California registered engineer or land surveyor must determine that level and
identify it. in the field by a bench mark for field verification.
(2) The building must be placed on a foundation system which will satisfy
the flood level criteria. If other than a conventional foundation, the design
must be made by a California registered civil engineer or architect.
(3) Provide sewage disposal and water supply systems per Health Department
requirements. These systems must also satisfy their requirements for areas
within the floodway.
(4) Make structural changes as may be required after plan check review of
building plans.
(5) Provide conforming stairway and -handrails at entrance to building.
(6) Replace the wood stove flue with a conforming flue and provide floor
:Protection and hearth per code requirements. ,
(7) Remove all flues extending through the roof which are not in use.

(8) Verify all plumbing fixtures are vented and provide a vent for the
kitchen sink.

(9) Reconstruct the shower to comply with code requirements.
(10) Verify adequacy of electrical system, ground all receptacles, provide
at least one receptacle on each wall •in each room, provide two 20 Amp kitchen
appliance circuits, provide bathroom GFI receptacle and eliminate exposed and
extension cord wiring..
(11) Provide attic and underfloor ventilation and access.
(12) Make the building weathertite.
(13) Replace all dry rotted and/or deteriorated materials.
(14) Recommend providing attic insulation of at least R19.
(15) Provide smoke detectors in accescg areas to bedrooms.
It is now in order for you to submit two complete sets of plans including plot
plan. floor plan and structural details to this office and apply for the required
permits and pay the appropriate fees.
I was not able to determine the location of the permanent pole on which you
requested a separate permit. If proposed in the area of the relocated building,
we can issue that permit. (Please advise we by telephone.) -

1. Subject:- Haener Mortarless ConcreterAssembly Blocks.
11. Description: The Hacner assembly, blocks are concrete units com-
plying with Grade N units as specified in U.B.C. Siandard No. 24-4. The
units are available in nominal sizes of 8 x 4,x 1� (stretcher). 8 x 4 x 8
(one-half) and 8 x 4 x 16 (corner block). Six- and,8-inch-high blocks are
also available together with 6 -inch -wide units. The units are similar to
conventional hollow concrete units but with lugs, yrojections and recesses
to provide interlocking without mortared hemi or bed joints. These include
special shapes for corners, jambs and other locatigns. The space between
the face shells is filled solidly with portland cement grout conforming with
Section 2403 (r) and Table No. 24-A of the Uniform Building Code.
Exception is permitted for structural coatings over mortarless concrete

solid. Axial stresses for reinforced inasonry in reference to wall buckling

shall be based on a structural wall thickness equal to the grout width
between face shells. Stresses shall be based solely on continuous vertical
cells grouted solidly.' Net.grout space -dimensions are,5 inches wide for the
8 -inch -wide block, 3 inches wid6f& the 6 -inch -wide block and 41A inchc"
4%4 inches, 8%2 inches and 5 inchesllong for the stretcher; -half, end ane
comer blocks, respectively for both widths. Based on -all cells being groutec
solid, f',,, equals 1500 psi for design purposes. Special blocks contain wcl
notches to allow for continuous horizontal reinforcement.

This is a formal warning notice. Pursuant to Butte County Code (BCC)
Section 41-2, we sent you a courtesy notice dated June 14, 1993 notifying
you that you are in violation of the BCC at the above -referenced location.
As of this date, the following violations still exist:
Failure to obtain the required permits, inspections and approvals from
this office for construction of a building in violation of the 1991
Uniform Building Code as adopted by Section 26-1 of the Butte County
Code as follows:
(a) Section 301(a) Permits Required
(b) Section 305(a) Inspections Required
(c) Section 305(d) Inspection Approval Required before Use or Occupancy
The above violation(s) shall be corrected or abated by you by submitting
three (3) complete sets of plans, applying for the required permits, and
paying the appropriate fees, including penalties. After permit issuance
and field authorization to proceed, the work must be completed and approved
by this office within the permit specified time.
This is your final warning. Unless you contact this office and make the
proper arrangements to correct or abate the violation(s) voluntarily, within
ten 10 days from the date of this letter, enforcement shall be pursued
through the issuance of a citation (ordering you to appear in court) for
said violation(s) and for failing to comply with this warning letter.
Upon conviction of said violation(s) or of failing to comply with this
letter, the court shall impose penalties (fines) and a Notice of Violation
shall be recorded in accordance with Butte County Code Section 41-7. The
Notice of Violation shall include a description of the premises the violation
concerns, a description of the violation, the date of your conviction and
the action necessary to correct or abate the violation(s).
