The purpose of this letter is to address item ## 1 on your letter dated
October 2, 1985 to William Crim.
I have made a field survey of the above parcel of land and have establish-
ed a bench mark relative to the high water mark located on the Westside
of the building to be moved. This high water mark approximatelv;r7represents
the 100 year floode�zl.
The bench mark i -s represented by a 60 penny nail set in an oak tree along
the road adjacent to the proposed building site where the house will be re-
located. The elevation of this bench is 67.3 MSL based upon the USGS
guaging station at the Butte Creek bridge on the Gridley Colu.sa highway..
The floor level of the of the building to be relocated will be at or high-
er than the high flood elevation.

With reference to the above subject and your proposal to move the house/duck club
building on your property off the South side of Gridley Colusa Hwy just East of
Butte Creek, the requested inspection was made on October 1, 1985.
The inspection revealed the following items which must be done or resolved if;the
building is to be relocated:
(1) The property is within'the Federal Flood Hazard Zone A, which will
require the floor level of the building to be placed at or above the 100 year
flood level.
A California registered engineer., -or land surveyor must determine that level and
identify_Tr , in the field by a bench mark for field verification.
,(2) The building must be placed on a foundation system which will satisfy
the flood level criteria. if other than a conventional foundation, the design
must be made by a California registered civil engineer or architect.
(3) Provide sewage disposal and water supply systems per Health Department
requirements. These systems must also satisfy their requirements for areas
within the floodway.
(4) Make structural changes as may be requiredafter plan check review of
building plans.
(5) Provide conforming stairway and handrails at entrance to building.
(6) Replace the wood stove flue with a conforming flue and provide floor
protection and hearth per code requirements.
(7) Remove all flues extending through the roof which are not in use.
(8) Verify all plumbing fixtures are vented and provide a vent for the
kitchen sink.

(9) Reconstruct the shower to comply with code requirements.
(10) Verify adequacy of electrical system, ground all receptacles, provide
at least one receptacle on each wall in each room, provide two 20 Amp kitchen
appliance circuits, provide bathroom GFI receptacle and eliminate exposed and
extension cord wiring.
(11) Provide attic and underfloor ventilation and access.
(12) Make the building weathertits.
('13) Replace all dry rotted and/or deteriorated materials.
(14) Recommend providing attic insulation of at least R19.

(15) Provide smoke detectors in.access areas to bedrooms.
It is now in order for you to submit two complete sets of plans including plot
plan, floor plan and structural details to this office and apply for the required
permits and pay the appropriate fees.
I was not able to determine the location of the permanent pole on which you
requested a separate permit. If proposed in the area of the relocated building,
we can issue that permit. (Please advise me by telephone.)
