3. Continental Oil CO. - Use Permit to allow drilling
exploration for natural gas test well and related
activiLy on property zoned "A-2" (General), located
approx. 1/2 mile north of Evans Reimer Rd. and 3/4
mile east of Pennington Rd, southwest of Gridley,
identified as AP 21-05-16 (Portion).
Staff findings were read by Mr. Lawson. He also reported that a
Negative Declaration regarding Environmental Impact had been filed
and the appeal period passed and no appeals were received.
Proponents: George Bronson (896) requested that his company be
permitted not only to drill and test but 0100 to Produce Oil and
natural gas. In an ewes to a question from Commissiuner Camenzind,
Mr. Bronson said that a berm will be built arn"nd the drilling area
to contain the mud, and that when tho sito is ahandoned the conta-
minated mud will be hauled away and the aroa. fillod with good clean
soil to its original condition (956).
Opponents: None -
Motion was made by Commissioner Thobach and seconded by commissioner
Hanford to approve this use permit.
AYES: commissioners Camonzind, Hanfqrd, Hoorn, Smith, Thobach,
watson, Wattor's and Chairman Gilhort.
