Mrs. Blair read staff findings and noted, that there was no correspoadence.
Proponents: Gary Dillahunty, Route 1, Box 455, Gridley, speaking for
the applicant said that it was not his intention to request the garage
be 40 feet from thc,': centerline.
There was concern about the sight distance on that corner. Commissioner
Whec,'.:^T suggested that the width of the garage be changed or that it
be to t1he rear of the lot.
After dor. discussion Commissioner Wheeler iliad.e a motion that this matter
be continued until March 5 in order that the problems can be resolved.
Flis motion was seconded Commissioner Bennett.

The mento dated March 4 from' Public Works was read. again—this this time by Mrs.
Blair.
Gary Dillahunty said that ho had presented new 'p:-,i,ns to the Department
on Tuesday. Mr. Mendonsa said the new plan does help the sight distance
but lie would still, have to recommend denial --just in case Social Hall
Road should ever be widened to the point where additional area was needed.

Mr. pilot said that the elan was not to have the garage attached to the
house as originally planned.
The hearing was closed. Mrs. Blair recommended that, if approved, the
variance should be conditioned so that separation of the buildings would
meet the requirements of Public Works' Department.

Regarding the application the applicant states:
"I restore old cars and used to own my own business. I feel
by storing things inside and not out in the yard.,i9 adds to
the property. There has been a fence in the place where the
garage would be so I feel it would not 'be taking away from
the property."
Tho varial;:e would permit construction of a garage addition 40 ft.
from the centerliiie of Social Hall. Road. The current zoning is
A-2. The property is a, flat, corner lot which is approximately
138 ft. x 1.00 ft. in size.
Section 24-40 of Ordinance 1.750 - The Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance,
states:
"Variances from, the terms of this chapter shall be
granted. only when, because of special circumstances
applicable to the property, including size, shape,
topography, location or surroundings, the strict
applicat,on of this chapter deprives such property
of privileges enjoyed by other property in. the
vicinity and under identical zoning classificatikon.'l
