I called Mr. Whittington on 6-14-05 and discuss the issue of non-conformance and asked him which residence is considered non -conforming. I discussed the possibility of a Use Permit in the case of addition to a non -conforming structure. He deemed the Mobile Home to be the conforming structure, as it is older/original than the new House. I reiterated that the Mobile Home is the conforming structure, that if he decides to do any additions to the House, and the Mobile Home is still on the property, it would require a Use Permit. He also wanted to confirm that if the Mobile Home is the conforming structure that he could replace it and not be restricted as to the exact size of replacement, and I told him that was fine, as it's the conforming structure. He stated that he will either replace the Mobile Home in the future, or remove it and then have the House as the conforming structure and do an addition to that in the future.
