(C)
A TWO-STAGE THERMOSTAT,,which controls the supplementary heat on
its second stage, shall be required for heat pumps.
(D)
AN AUTOMATIC SETBACK shall be provided for all thermostats, except
those controlling heat pumps.
(E)
AN INTERMITTENT IGNITION DEVICE shall be provided for all gas-fired
fan type central furnaces, gas-fired fan type wall furnaces and
gas cooking appliances.

51 (B) TANK INSULATION. Storage type water heaters and storage and
backup tanks for solar systems shall be externally wrapped with
R-12 insulation or greater.
(C) PIPE INSUTATION. The five feet of pipe closest to the water
heater and outside conditioned space shall be insulated with a
minimum of R-3. Steam and steam conditioned space shall be
insulated with a minimum of R-3. Steam and steam condensation
return piping and recirculating hot water piping outside the
building envelope shall.be insulated in accordance with
T20 -1408(d).
(D) FLOW RESTRICTORS shall be provided for showerheads and faucets
as outlined in the new appliance efficiency standards and shall
be certified to the Energy Commission.
(7) LIGHTING
(A) Lamps used in luminaries for general lighting in kitchens and
bathrooms shall have an efficacy of not less than 25 lumens per
watt (usually florescent).
