As for the wind forces, the bracing under the main floor is more than adequate. The bracing from the first floor to the roof seems to be less than would be desired; however, since it has successfully withstood the ravages of weather for approximately forty years without showing sny signs of movement, the writer has to conclude that it also is adequate. Shear failure has occurred in the past in .the roof trusses at the intersection of the upper and lower chords and the transfer of stresses at these joints is now carried by diagonal bolts. This has allowed deflection in the upper chord and recommendations for preventing any further upper chord deflection are shown on page 3 of the enclosed calculations. .It is the opinion of thewriter that, after the corrections shown on page 3 of the enclosed calculations'have been made, the build- ing will be safe for occupancy.
