We have consulted with the Department of Water Resources and re- viewed their flood information in this area. Their aerial photo- graphs taken of the December 24, 1964 flood, show that the subject property was not inundated at that time. According to the Department of Water Resources Chief of Operations, this flood resulted from a release of 150,000 CFS from Oroville Dam; or the equivalent of a 1 in 100 year flood. Based on this information, it is our opinion that the parcel would not be subject to flooding during a storm with a one in 100 -year recurrance interval. With the capability and necessity to control releases from Oroville Dam, the Department of Water Resources perdicts that statistically this flood will occur four times in 100 years. Coupling this with the fact that the parcel is on the fringe of the inundated area, it is our suggested recommendation that a 12" pad be constructed at the building site, to provide additional protection from flood hazard.
