Description: General: The swimming pools consist of one-piece fiberglass construction, shop formed over a mold. The materials are mat and woven fiberglass, hand laid over a mold and bonded with polyester resins. Three styles are available: The Surfer, the Laguna and the Marina. Each model has a built-in spa available in three styles. See Table No. I for size and capacity of each model. The fiberglass pools are formed against a one-piece interior mold. The exposed surface is factory coated with an isophthalic gel a minimum 20 mils in thickness. The resins are polyesters and the fiberglass is random chopped mat and woven roving. The completed pool has a minimum cured thickness of not less than Y16 inch. The cured fiberglass has an average tensile strength of 18, 000 psi and a modulus of rupture of 16,770 psi. The pool shell is structurally constrained by a continuous concrete bond beam. It is cushioned and supported by a backfill of a minimum 6 -inch layer of compacted clean sand. The pool has a fiberglass coping approximately 8 inches wide around all sides. The exterior edge of which is then bent down or depressed to engage the poured -in-place concrete coping during the field installation. One comer of the pool is provided with curved steps for access to the pool. A main drain is built into the fiberglass pool at the deep end. A gravel sump is provided beneath the main drain base to collect any ground water or drainage from the sand bed on which the pool is installed. Leading from this gravel sump is 1'/z -inch plastic pipe extending to the ground level and is utilized to relieve hydrostatic pressure by collecting and disposing of ground seepage water when it becomes necessary to empty the pool. At the deep end, the pool is provided with an underwater recessed light pocket and floodlight. The floodlight is optional and all electrical apparatus in contact with the pool is required to be adequately grounded. Additionally, all plumbing and electrical work is required to comply with the -codes -currently in effect at the construction_stte. The pool design requires it to remain full of water at all times.
