Bay Spaces shall be measured between the centerlines at the primary frames. Roof slope shall be vertical rise of one (1) inch per twelve (12) inch of horizontal run, unless otherwise specified. DRAWINGS AND CERTIFICATION The building manufacturer shall furnish complete erection drawings showing column anchor bolt settings, column reactions. roof and wall framing, transverse cross sections, sheering and flashing details, and accessory details. On request, the building manufacturer shall furnish erection drawings and/or design calculations sealed by a Registered Professional Engineer. DESIGN GENERAL 4.1 .1 All structural steel sections and welded plate members shall be designed in accordance with applicable criteria as set forth in the "Manual of Steel Construction" as published by the American Institute of Steel Construction. 4.1 .2 All cold formed structural members and exterior covering shall be designed in accordance with the applicable Criteria as set forth in the American Iron and Steel Institute's "Specifica- lion for the Design of Cold Formed Steel Structural Members." DESIGN LOADS 4.2.1 Primary and secondary members shall be designed to resist the specified roof live loads in addition to the dead load applied to the horizontal roof projection. Standard roof live loads shall be UBC, 20. 25, 30 PSF. Other live loads are available upon request. 4.2.2 Primary and secondary members shall be designed to resist the specified wind toads applied to the structure in accordance with the "Recommended Design Practices Manuar" of the Metal Building Manufacturers Association. Standard wind loads shall be 70, 80 MPH. Other wind loads are available upon request. 4.2.3 The load combinations that shall be considered in the design of all members are: A. Dead load plus live load. B. Dead load plus wind load. C. All other loads shall be combined with the basic design loads in accordance with the "Recommended Design Practices Manual" of the Metal Building Manufacturers ASSacio- tion. STRUCTURAL FRAMING GENERAL 5.1.1 All framing members shall be shop fabricated tot bolted field assembly. Any field arcing or drilling shall be noted on the drawings. 5.1 .2 Primary structural framing shall include the transverse rigid home, intermediate columns, rake beams, endwall columns, corner columns, and wind bracing. 5.1.3 Secondary structural framing shall include purlins, girls, eave puffin, flange braces, and other miscellaneous structural parts. 5.1.4 Cold formed sections shall be manufactured by roll forming or brake forming. 5.1.5 All shop connection shall be welded. Butt welds in Range and web plates shall be full penetration. Other welds shall be Manuel shielded metal arc, gas metal arc, or flu%Cored semi-automatic. 5.1.6 All high strength bolts shall conform to ASTM Specifications A-325. Installation of high strength bolts shall be done by the "turn-of-the-nur' method. All other bolts shall conform to ASTM Specifications A-307. 5.1.7 All structural framing members receive one shop coat of oxide primer. PRIMARY STRUCTURAL FRAMING 5.2.1 The main transverse frames shall be continuously welded, submerged arc, three plate built- up "I" shapes, either constant depth or tapered. All hot rolled steel sheet, plate, and strip used in fabrication of frames shall conform to ASTM A-36 with a minimum yield of 42KSI. 5.2.2 Intermediate columns shall be steel pipe conforming to ASTM Specifications A-53 or built-up "I" shapes conforming to ASTM Specifications A-36. 5.2.3 Rake beams and endwall columns shall be constant depth shapes minimum 36KSI yield strength structural quality steel, or hof rolled structural shapes ASTM A-36 or cold formed structural members minimum 36KSI structural quality steel. 5.2.4 Corner columns shall be cold formed structural member minimum 42KSI yield strength structural quality steel. 5.2.5 Wind bracing cable shall be provided in the roof and sidewolls. Cable shall be minimum 5OKSI yield strength structural quality steel. 5.3 SECONDARY STRUCTURAL FRAMING 5.3.1 Purlins and girls shall be roll formed "Z' sections. 8" deep with 2- ," wide nonges and stiffening lips. Stiffening lips shall be formed at a 450 angle with the flange to facmtate nesting. Puffins and gins shall be formed from minimum 5OKS1 yield strength structural quality steel and pfepunched for field bolting. 5.3.2 Flange brace angles shall be provided to adequately brace the inner flange of me frames. The angle shall be bolted to the web of the puffin or girt and to the inner flange. 5.3.3 Base angle shall be provided for the attachment of the wall covering. This angle shall be cold formed and anchored to the foundation. 5.3.4 Structural framing members for all openings shall be adequate for specified design loads. 6. ROOF AND WALL COVERING ; �C 6.1 GENERAL \ - 6.1.1 Roof and wall panels shall be roll formed 26 gauge steel with minimum 5OKSI yield strength. 6.1.2 Panels shall have 11/4" deep major ribs spaced on 12" centers. Each panel shall provide 36" of coverage. Panels shall be sidelop type. 6.1 .3 Panels shall be zincolume or hot -dipped galvanized in accordance with ASTM Specifications A-525. Uncolored galvanized panels shall have a G-90 galvanized coating. Colored panels shall be zincolume or shall have a G-60 galvanized coating with a one -mil silicone polyester paint coating. The back of the colored panels shall have a 0.5 mil white wash coat. 6.2 FASTENERS 6.2.1 Sheet metal screws for stitching seamlines shall be 112.1 Ox2/4"' self -drilling indented hex washer head with 0.140" diameter drill point. The finish shall be 0.0003" minimum thickness cadmium and chromate plating. 6.2.2 Sheet metal Strews for attaching covering to secondary members shall be 112-14x14." or 112-14x1'/2" (optional) self -drilling hex washer head with 120:" drill point. The finish shall be 0.0003" minimum thickness cadmium and chromate plating. 6.2.3 All screws shall be plated carbon steel indented hex washer head self -drilling fasteners. Roof screws shall be pre -assembled to dished bonded 20 gouge galvanized steel and neoprene washers. 6.2.4 Wall screws shall be color -coated to match the calor of the underlying sheering on walls. 6.3 SEALANT AND CLOSURES 6.3.1 Sealant for endlaps, root sidelops, and roof flashings shall be microcelled polymerized vinyl chloride with pressure sensitive adhesive on both sides. The material shall be nonosphalfic, nonshrinking, nondrying, and nontoxic. It shall readily adhere to metal, plastic, and painted surfaces at temperatures ranging from 10°F to 140°F. 6.3.2 Closure strips shall be provided for installation along the eaves, base, and elsewhere to provide weather rightness. They shall be non -shrinking laminated polyethlene material with dovetail joints and preformed to the panel configuration. 6.4 FLASHING AND TRIM 6.4.1 Roke.,tascia, eave fascia (or eave gutter), corner flashing, base trim, trim for framed openings, coiner caps, peak caps, and other trim as necessary shall be provided for weather tightness and a finished appearance. 6.4.2 A formed ridge cap matching the slope and profile of adjoining roof panels shall be provided along the building ridge. 6.5 INSTALLATION OF ROOF AND WALL PANELS 6.5.1 Root and Wall panels shall be continuous for a maximum length of approximately 30 feet. Where endlaps are required, they shall be a minimum of 6" and shall occur at a puffin or girt. 6.5.2 Endwall panels shall be square cut on buildings with a roof slope of 1 to 12. For buildings with a roof pitch greater man 1 to 12, endwall panels are to be field beveled to match roof slope. 6.5.3 Roof and wall panels shall be secured to the purlins or girls in accordance with the building manufacturers drawings. 7. ACCESSORIES 7.1 SAVE GUTTERS. DOWNSPOUTS AND ELBOWS 7.1.1 Gutters shall be brake formed from 26 gouge galvanized steel. The face of the gutter shall match the profile of me rake trim. The outside face of the gutter shall be supported at 3"-0" spaces by steel support assemblies. 7.1 .2 Downspouts shall be 3x4 26 gauge steel and shall be provided in either galvanized or white. 7.1.3 Elbows will be either 451 or 901 26 gauge steel and shall be provided in either galvanized or white. 7.2 OVERHEAD DOOR OPENINGS 7.2.1 Structural framing for overhead door openings shall be designed for the specified wind loads. Framing shall consist at cold formed structural members. Trim shall be furnished to provide a finished appearance.
