This department received a complaint alleging health and safety hazards in the above listed dwelling., The Butte County Assessor's records indicate you are the owners of the property. On June 1, 1982, I visited the property and the tenants permitted me to make an inspection. The following conditions were noted which are in violation of the Butte County Code, Chapter 31, Section 31-8. Refuse Removal, and the California Administrative Code, Title 25, Chapter 1, Subchapter 1, Section 61 (a)(d), and which pose health or safety hazards to the tenants. 1. There is a garbage and trash accumulation by t rear porch. 2. The wood stove* e 1' om acks an a e t shie or separation from and an approved flue. 3.e electrical wiring is substandard with open splices, open wiring, missing p/fixtures, wi-ri_ng installed in a hose and buried in lieu of approved conduit, and general deterioration, presenting fare and safety hazards, 4• The dwelling lacks weatherproofing, with broken windows, deteriorated siding, doors, and deteriorated window sash, dry rot and opening in roof eaves, and roof leak over the. kitchen. - 5• There is a rat infestation as evidenced by gnaw holes, and rat droppings throughout the house. 6. Plumbing vents and waste lines lack traps, supports and are not properly installed. 8. The water heater has been installed outside without weather protection, a temperature pressure relief valve and discharge line, and proper flue. Plastic pipe has been used for hot water. 9. The rear porch -and steps are in poor repair and present a hazard. 10. The house is in an advanced state of deterioration and shows a general lack of maintenance. These conditions shall be corrected as follows, and within THIRTY (30) DAYS from ,receipt of this notice unless otherwise indicated. Obtain all required permits from the Butte County Department of Public Works, 7 County Center Drive, Oroville, CA 95965, prior to beginning repairs. jl. Remove the garbage and trash accumulation from the premises within SEVEN (7) DAYS from receipt of this notice. Do not permit garbage or trash to accumulate for over SEVEN DAYS. �! 2. Provide a properly installed heating facility, with proper flue and separation from combustibles, and capable of maintaining a temperature of 70 degrees Farenheit at a point three.feet above the floor in all habitable rooms. ✓3• Remove and replace all substandard electrical wiring, eliminate all open splices, open or exposed wiring. Replace missing or inoperative electrical fixtures, receptacles, switches, and provide proper conduit and wiring from meter to house. �. 4. Make the dwelling weatherproof, replacing broken windows, deteriorated siding, doors, and.window sash. Remove and repair dry rotted roof eaves, and the leaking roof covering. ✓ 5. Eradicate the rat infestation and make the dwelling rodent proof. ✓ 6. Drain the cellar and stop water flow into it. ,/7. Provide properly installed, trapped and vented waste drains connected to the septic tank for the kitchen sink; and other plumbing fixtures. A..
