hereby•-caused:this Notice of Violation to''be submitted,to
the-Recorder of Butte County for recordation. This notice
pertains to a violation of the Butte County Code relating.to
the property identified above and described in Exhibit A
Attached hereto and incorporated herein by.this reference..
On October 4, 1989, Don C. Armitage, an owner, tenant,
occupant, resident or other person having possession,
control or other ownership.interest'.in or the.right-`of :,
access, to said property, was found guilty,in the•South
County Municipal Court (Case No. CR 1317G) of.violation of
Butte,County Code Sections 11-4, 24-195 and Sec.. 41.2d.
The said violations can be corrected or abated by reducing
-.the amount of "Junk" (vehicles) in the public view to 100.
square feet-on your property.
Pursuant to ;Butte County Code Sec 41-10., no county permits;
licenses or'other"entitlements shall be -issued when there is
an outstanding code violation involving the premises to
which-the application therefore pertains, unless all

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Armitage:
This department received a complaint alleging health and safety violations
in the above listed rental dwelling. The Butte County Assessor's records
indicate you are the owners of the property.
On March 29, 1985, I visited the property and the tenants allowed me to make
an inspection of the dwelling. The following conditions were noted which are
in violation of the California Administrative Code, Title 25, Chapter 1, Sub-
chapter 1, Article 5, Section 32; and the California Health and Safety Code,
Section 17920.3 (a-11), (b), (d), (e), (f), and (g); and which pose health
and/or safety hazards to the tenants.
1. The bathroom walls are covered with mildew and mold due to excessive
dampness. Walls are rotted and deteriorated around the bathtub.
2. There is exposed unprotected wiring in the kitchen area. There are open
splices and exposed unprotected wiring on the side porch. Ceiling fixture
is missing and wiring.is exposed on the dining room ceiling. Cover plates
are missing on wall switches and receptacles. Wiring is exposed and has
open splices on front porch. Breaker box at meter location lacks a cover
plate over breakers and has exposed wiring.
3..-_ Kitchen_.sink._fauce.ts._,leak._continuously, hot water. shut off because of
faucet leak. -Toilet flush valve does not function.
4. The water heater flue is unsafe. There is no.temperature-pressure relief
valve and discharge line on the water heater.
5. The space heater is. unvented and unapproved type.
6. Windows are broken, not weathertight, and have rotten sills in bedrooms,
kitchen, and dining room.

These conditions shall be corrected as follows, and.within THIRTY (30) DAYS
from receipt of this notice. Obtain all required permits from the Butte County
Department of Public Works, 7 County Center Drive, Oroville, CA, prior to making
these repairs.
1. Eliminate excessive dampness from the bathroom. Remove mildew and mold from
walls and ceiling and refinish walls and ceiling. Repair or replace rotted
and deteriorated walls around bathtub.
2. Provide protection for all exposed wiring in the kitchen, side porch, front
porch, and at breaker box. Eliminate all open splices on side porch, front
porch.and in area of breaker box. Repair or replace ceiling fixture in dining
room, eliminate hazardous exposed wiring., Provide cover plates for all switches
and receptacles. Provide cover over breaker switches.
3. Repair or replace leaking kitchen sink faucets to eliminate leaks: Provide
hot water to faucets.. Repair or replace toilet flush valve so toilet will
flush properly..
4. Provide proper installation for water heater with an approved flue, temperature -
pressure relief valve and discharge line, and separation from combustibles.
5. Provide an approved heater and flue installation. Heater shall be capable
of maintaining a minimum temperature of seventy degrees Farenheit measured
at a point three feet above the floor in all habitable rooms.
6. Repair or replace all broken windows. Make.all windows weathertight. Replace
rotten sills and frames.
A reinspection will be made. Failure to comply with this notice will result in
the Franchise. Tax Board being notified of your non-compliance. You will then be
prevented from claiming state tax deductions for taxes, depreciation, amortization,
or other interest expenses connected with the property as long as it remains sub-
standard.. This notice.is given to you pursuant'to Sections 17299 and 24436.5 of
the.'California Revenue and Taxation Code.
If the house is vacated, do not occupy, rent or lease this dwelling until all
repairs are made and inspected. Please contact me at the above listed address
or telephone number if you have any questions concerning this notice.
