Dear Mr. or Mrs. Hadaway:
This department has received a complaint alleging health and safety
hazards in the above listed rental mobilehome. The Butte County
Assessor's records indicate you are the owners of the property.
On October 1, 1987, I visited the property and the tenant permitted me
to inspect her rental mobilehome. The following conditions were
observed which are in violation of the California Administrative Code,
Title 25, Chapter 2, Subchapter 1, Section 1704 (b)(4), (e)(1)(4)(5),
Section -1640 (e) and (f) and which pose health.or safety.hazards to the
tenants and render the mobilehome substandard.
1. There is no natural or liquified petroleum gas to the mobilehome,
so no heat available.
2. Electrical wiring is inoperative in rear bedroom, and causes sparks
behind kitchen range.
3.. There is no water service to the mobilehome due to lack of
electrical service.
4. Fusebox is.in poor condition at rear of, the mobilehome.
5_. Swamp cooler causes electrical shocks due to.defective wiring and
grounds per tenant.

6. Wiring is unprotected from physical damage at meter.
7. Pump, house wiring is unsafe with open junction boxes, unprotected
wiring.
8. Laundry room lacks cover plates on electrical receptacles, water
heater wiring lacks protection.. Water heater needs discharge line
on temperature -pressure relief valve.
9. Second trailer site has non weatherproof receptacle.
These conditions shall be corrected as follows, and within THIRTY (30)
DAYS from receipt of this notice. Obtain required permits for .repair
of mobilehome wiring from the Department of HOusing and Community
Development, 6007 Folsom Avenue, Sacramento, CA 95819, and for pump
house and laundry room, from the Butte County Department of Public
Works, 7 County Center Drive, Oroville, CA 95965 prior to making
repairs.
1. Provide, gas service to mobilehome and approved heating facilities
for the mobilehome.
2. Repair or replace all defective or inoperative wiring in the
mobil,ehome, including near bedroom and kitchen.
3. Provide domestic water service to the mobilehome.
4. Repair or replace defective fuse box at the rear of the mobilehome.
5. Eliminate electrical shorts causing shocks in swamp cooler.
6. Protect all wiring from physical damage at meter location.
7. Provide proper covers on all open junction boxes, and -provide
protection for all wiring in the pump house.
8. Provide cover plates on electrical receptacles in laundry room.
Provide protection for water heater wiring, provide discharge line
to the exterior from'the water heater temperature -pressure relief
valve.
9. Provide water proof electrical receptacle at second mobilehome
site.
A reinspection will be made. Failure to comply will result in the
Franchise Tax Board being advised.of your noncompliance. You will then
be prevented from claiming. state tax deductions for taxes,
depreciation, amortization, or interest expenses connected with the
property as long as -it remains substandard. This notice is given to

Through our courtesy notice on September 17, 2003, you were notified pursuant to Section. 41-2 of the Butte
County Code of the presence of code violations on your above -referenced'' -property.. According to our records, the,
courtesy notice has not resulted in abatement or correction of the:

1 The accumulation of junk in public view.
2. The keeping of inoperable vehicles in public view.
Your failure to eliminate the stated violations are cause for the issuance of this formal warning notice.
As of this date, our records indicate that the following violation tothe Butte County Code still exist:
Butte County Code, Chapter 24, Section 24-95 - The AR -1 (Agricultural -Residential) zone does not
"specifically authorize" large accumulations of junk. The storing of more than 100 square feet of "junk"
on a parcel is one. of the items used to determine that a "junkyard" condition exists. A "junkyard" is not
an allowed use in the AR -1 zone without a Use Permit. "Automobiles and othervehicles, dismantled, in
whole or in part" ;are: considered to be "junk." Chapter 11, Section 11-4 forbids people, whether at a
licensed junkyard location or not, .fromstoring junk in public view.
The'determination ° that .these violations exist on the property is based on the following definition in the Butte
'- 'County Code:. ;.
Butte County Code, Chapter 24, Section 24-305.240 - Junk. Any worn-out and discarded material in
general that may, be turned to some use including, but not limited to, any old iron, wire, copper, tin, lead,
rags, paper; bags; lumber, empty bottles, bones, parts of bicycles, tricycles; baby carriages, automobiles,
and other .vehicles, dismantled, in whole or in part, kept, stored; located, situated or piled in public view,
and all other similar personal property ordinarily defined and classified as "junk" kept, stored, located;
situated or piled in public view and not screened from public view by a fence:
