The Butte County Department of Development Services, Planning Department, has reviewed the
submitted Environmental Health Application for a septic permit. This property is located in the
Orchard and Field Crop designation in the Butte County Code. Therefore, the Agricultural
Commissioner must review your plans for an agricultural buffer, which is generally 300 feet
between neighboring agricultural operations and residences. The Agricultural Commissioner did
review your plans and has determined that your parcel size will support a standard 300 foot
buffer in the east/west direction (please see attached copy). Therefore, the proposed structure
needs to be placed further west, greater than the proposed 180', from the eastern property line.
For approval of your septic permit, 'aswell as for future building permits you may submit, please
revise your plans to meet the conditions from the Agricultural Commission. I.understand that
you have an existing septic and leach lines and are upgrading them for your house. If there is an
issue to relocate the house in a different location, relative to the existing septic, please contact the
Agricultural Commissioner's office at 538-7381.
