Accordingly, on Saturday, October 19, 1955, project r,roh000logist b,
McGann conducted an intensive, on -foot rec:onnofssance' of the project areas
for the purpose of locating and recording any evidence of pr+ohfgtoric or,
significant historic use andlar, occupation.
The two parcels consist of rectangular pieces of land locatod within

Prior to going into the field the archaeolcgical records of the Northeast
California Information Center (CSU -Chico) were exartlined for any existing
roc°.orded prehistoric or historic sites within the project ar"e;a. Wtdditian�
the National Register of Historic daces (USDI 19$5) was 0180 c0118ulted.' No
sites are currently recorded for the projeot area nor immediately adjacent
parcels, although the project vicinity is ail, archsv%ologically sensitive zone
along the FOather River within which numerous, prehistoric and historio a°ite$
have already been recorded':
