Dear I&. Kanlund: .
Enclosed for your convenience is an application fora permit to construct a
sewage disposal system and a information sheet. A septic tank system is
required for all new houses not on a community sewer system. Out-houses are
not permitted. _
Before we can issue a permit we must be assured of the following:
1. That the lot was properly created and has a 60 ft. recorded access
to a publicly maintained road. Please submit a copy of your deed
showing date of creation of the parcel and the. ,recorded access.-
That
ccess.-That adequate soil conditions exist for the proper installation and
operation of a septic tank system. Soil depth tests and/or
percolation tests may be required.
Your parcel is in an area normally considered as being poorly suited for the
operation of septic tank systems. However we shall be happy to.work with you
in an attempt to determine an adequate system for your parcel. Please feel

With reference to your recent correspondence, the following are answers to the
questions under the jurisdiction of this office:
1.`:A small shed of 200 square feet or less does not require a building permit
if used as a tool shed., wood shed, or pump house, and if detached, a mini-
mum of 6 feet from a structure requiring a building permit.
2. &tone houses or.two-story houses are permitted if they comply with building.
code requirements.
3. A small greenhouse, meeting the definition of an agricultural building,
would not require a building permit.
4. Your question concerning adobe or earth -packed walls cannot be answered
without additional information. 'We are presently enforcing the 1973 Uniform
Building Code and your details of construction must show conformance with
the code and the materials of construction must also conform. If you desire .
to use this type of construction, I suggest you contact us in person and
discuss your proposed construction in detail.
5. Electric wiring, in conduit, may be exposed on the interior walls.
I assume the Health Department will answer the related items concerning sewage disposal.

Dear Sir:
The property you describe.identified as AP 30-23-76
located on the south side of Oro -Dam Blvd. East, also
known as Highway 162, is currently in the. A-2 (General)
zoning classification -of Butte County. Development
within this zone would be limited to the minimum lot
requirements of - 8,125 square feet per dwelling unit.
Experience has indicated that parcels of this minimum
size are not feasible in this particular location, due
to septic tank and well location minimum requirements.
The subject property is currently under.con.sider.ation
fora possible.agricultural zoning, which would require
a minimum of five acres per dwelling unit. In the event
that this. zoning is imposed, it would then limit the
development to one home per five acres.
I am forwarding a copy of your letter to both the Building
Permit Division of the Department of Public Works and to
the Environmental Health Department for t.4e.ir comments as
to your proposal
