Our experience has shown that 'until an area is near fully developed, ,'he need for ea.sments cannot be second*guesx::d'. Hey said the agreement between a City of Chico and the County of Butte provided that the County and city wo, share the costs of construction on a 50-50 basis. The bids would indicate that the county's share would be $46,376.40, of which $40,000.00 is budgeted. The remaining $6iV6.40 has been requested by the City of Chico. These bids cover the removing of the old bridge, and Mr4.0'Neill suggested that if the Board dial not want to make available to the City of Chico the remaining $6,576.40, the removal of the old bridge couldq be eliminated from the contract. The County could then remove the.old bridge and use it someplace that it might be needed.
