It ` J is either labyrinthitis, or Menierets disease. ror this the patient has not been adequately treated, she should have an intensive program, that would include a low salt diet, perhaps a diuretic, and such drugs, as Antivert, Niacin, Dramamine; ori, Marez3ne. • The findings' in the dorsal spins are minimal, however the patient has her most severe back symptoms in this area, it may be that the patient does have early y' degenerative arthritis. The patient has definite objective findings in the lumbar area, since she has evidence of an old compresoion fracture,vand significant arthritis in the lumbar spine. However, at thfi present time, the symptoms are '•r� not significant in this area. !,1 + PROGNOSIS. (1) The labyrinthitis could be controlled or at least usually may be, t� + 7 ti : s1 controlled with a definite regimen for this disease, .� (23 The degenerative arthritis will probably be slowly progressive. She could have recurrence of pain in the low back area at any time. ;til;; b: Particularly such duties as lifting patients in and out of bed may t»'! ; trigger a severe episode' of back i..ain at any bine. However,' the patient ,phould be able to do such duties as making Beds, and general ' housework.
