I sometimes put a mouse or a gopher in the-jar. When the jar gets nearly.full of flies) I empty the contents in a hole.in the garden then rinse the jar good inside and outside. I put some of the rotted mass-back in the jar. Add meat scraps as needed. U Note you must keep the jar sides clean and'must have moisture inside. I grease the threads of the lid so it will screw on and off easily and not rust. I have used this method for years and catch several jars full every season. Good luck.
