A reinspection was made this.date of the above listed rental dwell-
ing. The following corrections were made:
1. Rodent infestation eliminated - gnaw holes all blocked. No
permit needed.
2.' Steps anchored by adding metal strap. No permit needed.
3. Ceiling tile re -stapled. No permit needed.
4. Electrical wiring.checked by electrician, exposed wiring is a
dead line, no connection to any power source. Swamp cooler had
leak on motor which caused short circuit.
5. Gas leak at range was from defective range pilot light, repaired.
6. Kitchen sink faucet repaired. Shower pan drain recaulked. No
longer leaks, sewer drain from shower cleared. Toilet tank lid
replaced.
7. Wall heater control repaired. Bolt -on lever was too long and
struck heater cover jamming control. Unit now functions properly.
Water heater flue not replaced, but owner indicates double wall
flue will be installed.

Dear Mr. and Mrs.. Nesbitt:.
This department received a complaint alleging health and safety.hazards*
in the above listed rental unit. The Butte County A=ssessor's records.
indicate you are the owner. of the property.
On October 1, 1984, I visited the.proper.ty and the tenant permitted me
t'o make an inspection of the dwelling unit. The following conditions
were observed which are in violation of the California Administrative
Code, Title 25, Chapter 1, Subchapter l; State Housing Law Regulations;
and the California Health and Safety Code, .Section 17920.3 (a), (b), (d),.
(e), and (f); and which pose health or safety hazards to the occupants of
the dwelling.
1,.. There is evidence of a major rodent infestation in the kitchen with
mouse droppings on shelves, in dishes, etc'., and with a gnaw hole
behind step in front entry hall.. There is also a.hole above the:
window in the small bedroom which would -allow entry of rodents into
the building.
2. The steps in the hallway near the front door are notanchored securely,.
and persons could fall if the step moves.
3. Ceiling tile is loose and in danger of falling in master bedroom
closet.
4. Electrical wiring is exposed on wall near laundry room. Swamp cooler
operation causes breakers to trip.
5. There is a gas leak behind the kitchen range with gas odor detected.

6. The kitchen sink.faucet leaks. The shower pan.leaks to the outside
near.the water heater. The toilet tank cover is broken and hazardous
'to persons. using' the*toilet...
7.. The.wall heater control is jammed and wall' heater. cannot be turned
down to'low level or off without complete shutdown.
8. The water heater flue is single wall construction and. badly. rusted.
Enclosure needs -.cleaning.
These conditions shall be correctedd as follows,..and within THIRTY (30)
DAYS from receipt. of this notice. Obtain any required permits from.the
Butte County Department of Public Works,7 County Center .Drive,.Oroville,
CA 95965., prior to making repairs..
l.. Eradicate the rodent infestation from -the dwelling. Block all gnaw
holes or other openings permitting entry of rodents into the building.
Make -the dwelling rodent proof.
2.. 'Properly anchor the.step in.the entry hallway so the -step will note
move.
3:.Properly anchor. loose ceiling tile in the master bedroom closet...
4.. Protect all exposed wiring. Eliminate. short circuit-n:swamp cooler.
Do general electrical cleanup.
5. Eliminate gas leak behind kitchen range.
6_ Repair or replace leaking kitchen sink faucet. Repair or replace
leaking shower pan, eliminate leak. Replace broken toilet tank cover..
7.. Repair or replace wall heater so. control will function properly.
8.. Provide a properly installed double wall flue on the water heater.
Clean enclosure to eliminate fire hazard.
A reinspection.will be made. Failure to comply will result in the Franchise
Tax Board being notified of your non-compliance.. You will then be prevented.
from ,claiming state tax deductions for taxes; depreciation,'amort.ization, or
'interest expenses connected with the property as long as _it remains substandard.
This notice is given to you pursuant to Sections 17299 and 24436.5 of the
California Revenue and Taxation Code.
