The Butte County Assessor's records indicate you are the owners of the property. On May 24, 1990, I visited the property and the tenant permitted me to make an inspection of his rental unit. The following conditions were observed which are in violation of the California Health and Safety Code, Section 17920.3 (a)(10)(12), (d), (e), (f) and (g) (2) ; and which pose health or safety hazards to the tenants: 1. Front bedroom ceiling light fixture is inoperative with .exposed wiring. 2. Crawl space holes under the house are unscreened allowing entry of vermin, rodents and animals. 3. Electrical wiring with live circuit is exposed under kitchen sink presenting damager of electrical shock. Front bedroom lacks cover plate on.light switch just inside entry door. 4. Window in rear bedroom cannot be opened. 5. Water heater in bathroom. lacks temperature -pressure relief valve and discharge line. Combustion air availability is questionable. Miguel G. and/or Jesus Gutierrez May 29, 1990 Page 2 6. Wall heater in rear bedroom has defective gas shutoff valve allowing gas to flow to pilot and burner after valve in closed. 7. There is a water leak in house plumbing (probably toilet or toilet service line). 8. Rear exit door has broken window covered with cardboard. These conditions shall be corrected as follows, and within THIRTY (30) DAYS from receipt of this notice. Obtain all required permits from the Butte County Department of Public Works, 7 County Center Drive, Oroville, CA 95965; prior to making repairs. 1. Repair or replace defective ceiling light fixture in front. bedroom. 2. Provide screened vermin -proof covers on both underhouse crawl holes. 3. Eliminate the hazardous open electrical wiring circuit under kitchen sink (garbage disposal wiring). Provide cover plate for wall switch in front bedroom. 4. Make window operable and operable in rear bedroom. 5. Provide proper installation for water heater in bathroom with a temperature -pressure relief valve and discharge line, verify .separation from combustibles, proper exhaust flue, and adequate combustion air. 6. Repair or replace defective gas shutoff valve on rear bedroom wallheater. 7. Eliminate water leak occurring in the house water service line. 8. Replace broken window in rear exit door. If the house is vacated do not allow it to be occupied until repairs are completed and inspected. Failure to comply with this notice will result in the County Code Enforcement Officer being requested to issue a citation to. you for appropriate legal action in court. In addition the Franchise Tax Board will be advised of your non-compliance.
