Provide additional information and/or make revisions to plans, specifications and calculations as follows: 1. Additional garage does not meet requirements of the Uniform Building Code for bracing. Minimum braced wall panel is 4 feet and there is an alternate panel which can be 2 feet -8 inches with certain conditions for construction. Is the wall at front of garage,'located between the two garage doors, a minimum of 4 feet wide? If not, you do not meet of requirements for an alternate braced wall panel in this location. In addition you do not have any bracing at the right rear wall where you have located a window and a door. You are to call out what materials you are using for bracing and provide required attachment per code and specific material. The term wood siding is not specific enough to know what you are using to meet the requirements of the code. Provide bracing for these two areas or provide a lateral analysis of this addition. 2. Rebar is required along the entire length of the braced wall line when alternate braced wall panels are used, including across the opening for the garage door. Your plans are to reflect this requirement. Show required holddowns and specify type of holddown on the plans. Plan check will continue upon receipt of all of the above items.
