lb No significant disruption, disOacement, compaction, or ovemo--'O$'ing of OW soils is
anticipated to occur as a result of this project. The proposed tentative subdivision 11%kila is not
intended to place additional single family residences on 'the newly created parcels.
let The subdividing of farm land could result in a change in current farm pract.k ;and/or
management, that may result in poor soil management' policies. However, soil av%-Ion has
historically not been a problem in the project area. Maintaining generally acropted soilmanagement practices and policies on ,newly created parcels is an anticipated to mitigate any
significant impacts in relationship to soil erosion by land or water,
1g: The primary soil types identified at the project site are not considered prime aglZiultural
soils. However, the soils are well suited for rice production.
3b: The drainage patterns of the area have been altered by agricultural management 11'ftctices..
Numerous natural and man made drainage canals cross the property. The proposed s41}division
will not directly result in any changes to the existing drainage patterns or irrigation i11'xtctices.
The existing drainage infrastructuf a is anticipated to be adequate despite subsequent iiitividual

and/or management. Current high yield rice grown in the north rn Sacramento Vallee, t'cq'uires

YOU have r,egnested tWO mitigation measurer, regarding the Zone "A"
floodway as shown on the Flood Snsurahce Map of July it 1988.
14 All development must meet the staYx'dards and requirements
of FEMA and the Butte County Health Code.
2. Flood plain elevations must be established by a licensed
Civil Engineer prior to the recordation of the final subdirision
map.
We will place a note on the final map for mitigation measure No.
14 However No. 2 seems to be some premature to do at this
time as this is agricultural land and plans to remain as sacb foi~
some bine. Only a portion of this parcel is actually in Zone "A t
as shown on the FEMA Map. We would therefor suggest for a

management policies. however, historical soil erosion has not been a
serious problem in the project area.
,lg No significant loss of prime agriculturally productive soils
,outside designated urban areas are anticipated as a result of this
project. There will be no significant loss of prime agriculturally
;roductive soils since each lot's size created by this tentative waiver
application will be of such size to allow the continued commercial
farming operations.
