Results were unsatisfactory (greater than 16 coliforms per 100 milliliters). This is the third unsatisfactory sample result from this well. It is my understanding that this well has been chlorinated at least twice. California State Housing Law requires an adequate supply of potable water to all residences. Please advise this office�as soon as possible as to how you intend to meet this requirement. Since the existing well continues to show unsatisfactory bacteria counts, a new well may be necessary. This department does not approve chlorinators or other disinfection devices in areas where potable water is available.
