The A.P. No. at this address is P47fdo-067. This test resulted in an Expansion Index of 35, which is assigned a potential expansion value of "Low" by Table 29-C of the UBC. In accordance with Paragraph 2904(b) of the UBC, it is our judgement that no special design considerations are necessary to mitigate soil expansion for this installation. This judgement is based'on the following: a. We estimate that 75% of the total expansion will occur in the upper two feet of soil. Under the worst conditions (completely dry to 100% saturated), total expansion will be in the range of one inch, computed as follows: (.035 in./in. x 24 in.) / .75 = 1.1". b. Mobile homes are necessarily constructed to withstand moderate flexure. It is our judgement that differential movements of 1" in the support system for a mobile home are well within the design tolerances for flexure.
