SPECIAL INSPECTION POLICY
1. Engineer or Architect shall identify on the plans when special inspection is required per Section 1701 of the Uniform
Building Code, list the type of special inspection required and any special requirements for testing.
2. Plan check engineer will attach the "Special Inspection Note" form to the plans indicating which items will require special
inspection.
3. Plan check engineer will notify applicant and list on the data sheet that approval of the special inspector is required prior
to issuance of the building permit.
4. A preconstruction conference may be required by the Plan Check Engineer to review special inspection requirements and
procedures.
5. The special inspector shall be employed by the owner, architect or engineer of record, but not by the contractor.
6. Prior to our approval of a special inspector, a resume and other information may be requested to verify the qualifications and
certification of the special inspector.
7. Special inspectors shall submit reports to the Building Division stating that all items requiring special inspection and testing
were fulfilled. Final report is to be submitted -and approved prior to final inspection of building.
SPECIAL INSPECTION NOTE
In addition to the inspections required by the Uniform Building Code Section 108, a.Special Inspection is required in this building
in accordance with the Uniform Building Code Section 1701.
Duties and Responsibilities of the Special Inspector:
1. The special inspector shall observe the work assigned for conformance with the approved design drawings and
specifications.
2. The special inspector shall furnish inspection reports to the building official and the engineer or architect of record. All
discrepancies shall be brought to the immediate attention of the contractor for correction, then, if uncorrected, to the proper
design authority and to the building official.
3.` The special inspector shall submit a final signed report to the Building Division stating whether the work requiring special
inspection was, to the best of his knowledge, in conformance with the approved plans and specifications and the applicable
provisions of this code.
4. The special inspector shall advise the contractor that Building Division called inspections cannot be delegated to him, so
inspections must also be made by Butte County.
5. Any change in special inspection firms made after permit issuance shall be approved by the Building Division prior to the
new firm performing any inspections.
6. Special inspections are in addition to the regular inspections performed by the Butte County Building Division. County
inspection approval and sign off is not to be construed as authorization to proceed with work which obscures, covers or
otherwise prevents proper special inspection.

GENERAL NOTES:
1. GENERAL
1.1 Design and installation of foundation by local engineer
or architect.
1.2 Foundation is designed for 1000 psf bearing (see
Section 7.1 EIA Standard RS -222-C). However, it is
the customer's responsibility to verify the adequacy
D of the foundation from soil boring data.
1.3 Slab type foundation is not recommended for areas with
extreme frost conditions or where high water tables are
present. These conditions could cause differential
settlements in the soil beneath the foundation
resulting in structural cracks.
1.4 Excavate a minimum 18" [457.2] of exponsive material
and replace with acceptable non -expansive fill.
1.5 Perimeter footing must be a minimum foundation
depth of 24" and per local frost line.
2. MATERIALS
2.1 Concrete shall hove a minimum compressive strength
of 2000 psi Q 28 days and shall be installed in
accordance with the ACI -318-83 Building Code
Requirements for Reinforced Concrete.
C 2.2 Reinforcing bars shall conform to ASTM -A615-82
grade 60 specifications and be detailed in accordance
with ACI -318-83.
2.3 Test cylinders shall be molded and laboratory cured in
accordance with ASTM C31. Three cylinders shall be
taken for each day's concrete placement. Cylinders
shall be tested in accordance with ASTM C39.
3. TOLERANCES
3.1 Tops of concrete foundation must be within 0.02' [6.09]
of elevation specified by the customer.

SITE WORK:
1. CHECK LEVEL OF FOUNDATION WITH SURVEYING INSTRUMENTS. LOCATE THE HIGHEST POINT. SHIM AS
REQUIRED TO EQUAL THE ELEVATION OF THE HIGHEST POINT it/8". SHIMS MUST BE 4" x 4" MINIMUM.
2. OFFLOAD MODULE A ONTO FOUNDATION (REF DWG. @L-001-3) AND REMOVE PLYWOOD FROM 6' x 8'
DOOR CASING. APPLY WILL SEAL TO EXTERIOR OF CASING.
3. REMOVE PLYWOOD FROM 6' x 8' DOOR CASING OF MODULE B AND THEN OFFLOAD MODULE B ONTO
FOUNDATION AS CLOSE AS POSSIBLE TO MODULE A. THE JOINT SHOULD BE NO LARGER THAN 1/2"
ANYWHERE ALONG ITS LENGTH. THE EDGES OF THE FLOOR & ROOF PANELS MUST BE AS FLUSH
AS POSSIBLE BETWEEN THE SECTIONS.
4. WHEN MODULES ARE SATISFACTORILY PLACED, THE CRANE WORK IS DONE.
5. WEATHERPROOF ROOF JOINT BETWEEN MODULES A & 8 USING HPG FLASHING.
6. INSTALL COCOA ALUMINUM TRIM ON THE EXTERIOR WALLS, STARTING AT THE BOTTOM SO THAT THE
OVERLAPS WILL SHED RAIN. SEAL ALL TRIM WITH URETHANE BASED SEALANT. ATTACH WITH CON-
CRETE SCREWS. SEAL THE OPENING AT THE TOP WHERE IT IS TO BE FLUSH WITH THE ROOF LINE.
7. CAULK AROUND 6' x 8' DOOR CASINGS TO ENSURE THAT THERE IS NO WATER ENTRY AND INSTALL
THRESHOLD BETWEEN THE TWO MODULES.
8. CONNECT 1 1/2" FLEX FROM MODULE A TO 6" x 6" BOX IN MODULE B (SEE SHEET 3 OF 9). PULL
WIRES BACK TO 400A DISTRIBUTION PANEL AND CONNECT WIRES TO APPROPRIATE CIRUITS (SEE
SHEET 6 OF 9 FOR CIRCUIT NUMBERS).
9. CONNECT 1/2" FLEX FROM MODULE A TO 4" x 4" BOX IN MODULE B (SEE SHEET 3 OF 9). PULL
ALARM WIRES BACK TO ALARM PUNCH BLOCK WHERE THEY ARE TO BE COILED ALONG WITH
MODULE 8 ALARMS FOR FINAL HOOKUP BY OTHERS.
10. INSTALL EXTERIOR LIGHT, LENS. & BULB. DOOR CANOPY, & DOOR LOCKSET ON MODULE A.
