Gentlemen:
In reference to the Initial Study of the proposed heel map for Garry
Cooper, A.P. 39-30-18, we have these responses:
1. Regarding the gas wells on site, those ai aas will be shown
on the map and designated as no -=development areas;
2. Two additional residences on ag=parcels will not conflict with
the larger ag-parcels. The proposed parcels wi.l:l remain in
the existing ag-use which is identical to the ...arrounding land
use and the business of maintaining and working the land will
be as usual.
?. Concerning the impact on vegetation and wildlife,, after speaking;
with ,Jim Snowden of the Department of Vish & Game, the impact
will be minimal, According to Mr. Snowden, the wildli.fe stated
in Appendix )♦, more notedly the Sandhill Crane and Heron rookery,
are located approximately l+ miles to the south and west- in
riparian habitat and not in the immediate area of the project
site, Mr. Snowden also stated, that of the .mentioned wildlife,
only the Yellow -Billed Cuckoo would utilize an oichard such as
Mr. Cooper's, but only when the orchard is adjacent to riparian
habitat. The orchard as it is situated, some distance from any
iparian habitat, provides limited foraging. This information,
along with the fact that the project sight has been in cultiva-
tion for a long period of time, suggests that any habitation
of wildlife was discouraged years ago, therefor forcing them to
find a more suitable place to :live, away from ag-land use and,
