In addition to the family room conversion to a bedroom with a bathroom, and the carport converted to storage, there appears to be a covered patio, addition to the living room, and a swimming pool added within the last years without the required permits and inspections from this office. lie therefore made a reasonable visual inspection without going on the roof, under the building, or in the attic, and found the conversions appear to conform to the intent of Housing Code requirements except for the following items which must be done or resolved.:" (1) Obtain Health Department approval for an additional bedroom,• and placement of pool in relation to septic system. s (2) Provide adequate emergency egress from sleeping area per Section - 1204, Uniform Building Code. (3) Provide a smoke detector at entrance to bedroom. (4) Verify electrical, plumbing, and mechanical meets code require- ments. (Exposed wiring in carport conversion indicates improper wiring method and lack of protection.) (5) Verify carport conversion construction meets building code require- ments. We therefore made a reasonable visual inspection without going on the roof, under the building, or in the attic, and found the conversions appear to conform to the intent of Housing Code requirements except for the following items which must be done or resolved.:.
