He assured me --and asked that you p'-on.ek,him to guarantee this --that neither of the"two other items are appropriate. The original permit was issued before July 1978, therefore I do not have to sign the energy standards statement.:l...,O can assure you that all measures were taken to make the house energy efficient, including R-11 and R-19 insulation throughout.) As for the step, Tom assures us that we do not need to build one. The area in question already has two steps either side,,which allow for movement. The center section is a platform, not a stairway and, he claims, perfectly legal at the moment. According to Tom Fox, therefore, neither item --the step and the energy form --needed my attention as they were both legal. He cl$ims the house should have been passed lonnbt necessitating the payment of an additional 56. Please consult with him.
