NEVIN Consulting Civil Engineer 189 Marvin Avenue Los Altos, California 94022 415 / 949-3884 April 18, 1985 RE: Flood Hazard Study For Proposed Residence Site My investigation of ground level at your proposed Mobile Home site as compared to the probable 100 -year flood elevation on Hamlin Slough at that site indicates that the flood level will be at least one-half foot below ground elevation and possibly as much as one foot lower. The flood surface elevation was inferred by superimposing the Flood Hazard Boundary Map for Butte County, prepared by authority of the Federal Insurance Administration, onto the U. S. G. S. 7 1/2 minute topographic map of Hamlin Canyon. Both of these maps are at a scale of 1:24, 000 and are the bases for Figure 1, attached. The ground elevation at the building site was determined by running a level circuit from an existing Bench Mark on the Hamlin Slough bridge on the Durham - Dayton Highway. This Bench Mark was set by a survey crew of the Butte County Department of Public Works in connection with a road survey and is based on U. S. G. S. datum. Copies of the residence survey notes are attached. I have enclosed extra signed copies of this letter report for use in submittals to the County.
