Substandard Conditions
Route 2, Box 424,- Esquon Road
A.P. #40-15-47
An inspection was made of your rental property located at Route 2, Box 424,
Esquon Road, Durham, CA (A.P.#40-15-47) on April 12, 1979, following a complaint
concerning possible electrical hazards.
The following conditions.were noted during the inspection:
1. Front bed -room ceiling - discolored and stained from water leak.
Tenant indicated the roof leaked during the rain.
a. Repair leaking roof.
2. Kitchen. - open electrical junction box - loose unmounted
electrical -receptacle behind electric range.
a. Properly repair and install electrical wiring and fixtures.
3'. Kitchen - light fixture with no electrical switch.
a. Provide proper electrical wiring and switch for light
fixtures.
4. Electric range - electrical wiring frayed and exposed on front
burners.
a. Repair frayed electrical wiring on range burners.
S. Stairway - no railing observed. Broken electrical wall -
receptacle under stairway.

a. Provide proper stairway railing.
b. Replace broken electrical wall receptacle.
6. Upstairs room - broken face plate on electrical receptacle
a. Replace face plate on receptacle.
7. Electric water heater - appears new - open splice (no junction
box). Pressure relief valve - no waste line to outside.
a. Clean tap electrical,.provide waste lime from
pressure relief valve.
8. Bath -room - holes in floor.
a. Seal all holes in bathroom floor.
9. Exterior electrical wiring - open splices wrapped with electrical
tape.. -Short circuit in electric switch for rear flood -light.
Romex wiring exposed to weather at breaker box. Laundry room -
open splices-- open wiring - provide ground.
a. Clean up, all substandard electrical wiring.
Complete repair on all the above items within thirty (30) days. Obtain all
required permits for repairs from the Butte County -Building Inspection Depart -
meet.
