It is proposed to explore by underground methods the extension of the ancient river channel gravels (previously J - 'worked) by extending existing underground workings and tunnels. A port±on of AP 41-06-39 located in the N 1/2 of Section 32, R4E,, TUP 21N Cherokee Quadrangle will be the underground site of the proposed Project. (See accompanying Assessors Map No,. 41-06 and enlarged Plot Plan). Generally, the Proposed Project will consist of exploring v:Lrg' ,3-n ground by means Of three separate tunnels, each approximately 600 feet long. Palmer Hatch - Stated that he was unable to find those Code sections referenced in the conditions. Commissioner Gilbert made a motion of approvalt subject to the con- ditions recommended, stating that inasmuch as conditions 1 and 2 are general the applicant should contact the Fire Contral Department for their approval. Commissioner camenzind felt the County had no right to require a use permit since the 1892 Federal Mining Laws governed mining. Commissioner Thebach seconded the motion.
