The building is an old wood frame structure with wood siding that has suffered some deterioration, weather damage, and'has been riddled with woodpecker holes. The general structural condition of the building appears to Warrant relocation; however, the balance of the building needs to be redone (new wiring, siding, windows, roofing, interior finish, If someone plans to relocate the structure, they must obtain a building permit from this office and they must bring the building in confoanance with present code requirements. This would require the submission of two (2) complete sets of plans including plot plans, floor plans, and complete structural details. In Addition, Health Department approval of the water and sewage systems would be required. When the building permit is issued, a transportation permit to move the building on the public road system could be issued. I suggest you contact a licensed house mover to determine what, if any, problems there might be in the actual transportation of the building on the public road system. Kerin, This letter is written in accordance with our phone conversation of 30 July, 1984, pertaining to electrical hookup requirements for a motor home parked on private property. The Butte County Historical Society possesses a one -room school house which dates back to the Gold Rush days. The school is located on Table Mountain north of Oroville. The Society has a caretaker, Fir. Jim Thomas, who will live on the site to provide security. The caretaker will live in his own 9 foot motor home which operates on 20 ampere electrical service (per data on the motor home). The motor home will be used as the caretaker's principal residence and as his primary means of transportation. The Butte County Building Department has advised that electrical requirements for the motor home must comply with the state code. The de- partment indicates the motor home would be in the same class as a mobile home and,- therefore, would require 150 amp electrical service. If the motor home would be subject to the state,requirement for recreational vehicles, only 50 amp service would be needed. The Building Department advised that your office could approve the R -V classification for the electrical hookup. As we discussed, it is requested that you provide the Butte County Building Department with a letter stating the State would class the above situation as falling under the code requirements for recreational vehicles. When approved, the electrical hookup will be instaa.led in conformance with the requirements of the code.
