The subject property is located approximatoly 3 miles northeast of faults associated with the Fc-.,thill Shear Zoneo which supported the 1.975 Oroville earthquake o,' magnitude 6.0 on the Richter scale, and approximately 2miles southwest of an inforl,"od fault line associated with the same Foothill Shear Zone. These faults are all of unknown activity. Construction of homes to Uniform Building Code standards for seismically active areas should provide adequate protection to residents in case of Laismic activity. 5d Potential impacts to wildlife on this property are twofold: Pirsto the area is within non-critical winter dsoz-i herd area. Due to surrounding similar development which already impacts the area, this project should not have any sigtificant effect on the deer herds. Second, valuable riparian habitat Iodated along the west branch Of Clear Creek should be preservedi It is suggested that ho -building, areas should be required on either side of the creek in order to preserve that habitat.
