Dear Mr. & Mrs. McCain:
The Butte County Department of Development Services, Planning Division, has received your
Agriculture Building Exemption Permit application. Your property is zoned Agriculture -
Residential (AR) with a 2.5 -acre minimum parcel size. The County allows agriculture uses, and
structures when they are accessory to a residential use. Residential uses are the only permitted
use in this zone, so the property must first contain a residential use before you can apply for any
accessory use or structure related to the accessory use.
We will not be able to issue a permit for the above noted structure, until you have established a
residential use on the property.
