Project Description: Use Permit
Conditions and / or Pomments:
The following comments regarding disease vectors and pests
are offered as information to property owners and future
residents of the area.
This area hag historically produced Aedez gierrensis,
commonly called tne Treehole Mosquito, TWIT—ir.%quito breeds in
water holding cavities within Oak and other and is the
primary vector of the parasite which causes dog heartworm. Land
which is subdivided and thereby encourages urbanization in this
area will result in an increased risk of this disease.
Tree Cavities that hold water especiallNr Oak trees, need to
be drained by drilling or notching the cavity or filled with
sand, dirt or other water displacing material,
These comments are consistent With the District's adopted
policy called "Guidelines, Checklist and Standards for Vector
Prevention in Proposed Developments".
