year after.the date of application. In order to renew action on an
application after expiration, a new application, plans and fee will be
required.
REQUEST FOR REFUNDS
Refunds can only be made upon written request by the person who
paid the fee. The request must be made prior to the expiration of the
permit and no construction work has been done. Filing fees, plan
check fees for work plan checked and other department costs are not
refundable.

BUILDING PERMIT APPLICATION WITHOUT REQUIRED CLEARANCES
1 request and authorize the Building Division to process this building pen -nit application through the plans
examination process WITHOUT first obtaining all necessary, related permits and clearances from other
regulatory entities, including but not limited to, Planning, Environmental Health, Land Development,
County Fire, and Agriculture.

The Building Division will process the application through the plans examination process, as submitted,
without input from other regulatory entities that could prohibit issuance of the building permit or require
submission of amended building plans to the Building Division. Once the plans examination process
begins, there will be no refund of plans examination fees. Any changes requiring submission of amended
plans to the Building Division will incur additional fees.
Within one year from the date of application for a building permit, all other required permits and clearances
from other entities must be obtained for the permit to be issued. Failure to obtain these permits/clearances
will void the application.
Typically other required permits/clearances include, but are not .limited to, verification the parcel was
legally created, adherence.to.all mitigations and conditions imposed on the parcel at time of creation, as well
as zoning requirements, legal access, and applicable set -backs and environmental issues (fire, agriculture
buffer zones, and habitat/species).

The following is a partial response to your Plan Check Comments we received in your
letter dated May 8, 2006.
This partial response is limited to COMMENT # 1 — Deed Restriction and Limited Use
Facility — related to the living area on the submitted plans designated as "Bonus Room."
Based on my meeting with Mr. Jim Peterson on May 22, 2006, I understand the
requirement for the proposed deed restriction and limited use of the "Bonus Room" is due
to its direct access from the garage, which prohibits its use for sleeping, that is for
potential bedroom use.
As we discussed during our meeting, S&E Developers wish to avoid any deed restriction
limiting the use of this part of the residence. Therefore, based on your suggestion, we will
modify the floor plan by providing for a vestibule area between the garage and the living
area designated as the "Bonus Room." The proposed vestibule will have one-hour wall
construction of its walls common with the garage and will have a one-hour rated door
entering from the garage. The vestibule will have two additional doors, one entering the
bathroom and the other the area formerly called the "Bonus Room." We understand this
modification will permit the unrestricted use of the living area previously designated as
the "Bonus Room," including its use as a bedroom. We therefore will change the
designation of this living space on the revised plans, calling it: "Guest/Recreation Room."
The remaining plan check COMMENTS, relating to structural details, will be answered
by our structural engineer, Mr. Mark Wegener, P.E.

Dear Philo:
-This correspondence is in response to plan check comments dated May 8, 2006 on the
above referenced project. The responses below correspond to your number system. In
addition to our responses, the following documents are transmitted herewith:
• (2) sets of construction documents stamped and wet signed
• (2) sets of Supplemental Calculations stamped and wet

2. The 8" beam seat detail has been specified on details 10 and 16 on sheet S6.0.
3. Footing no longer required. The post for the girder truss (C3) has been
eliminated along with the footing.�tc�
Trusses C-1, C-2, and C-3 on now shown on the truss layout sheet (see
Supplemental Calculations). 'V TI S�
5. Drag truss has been added. See Supplemental Calculations and the roof
framing plan.
6. CMST14 strap has been added along wall line 3. See the roof framing plan.
7. Truss G2 has been redesigned to accommodate a drag load (see Supplemental
Calculations).
8. The W1 6x floor beam along grid C has been changed to a W1 WO in
accordance with the structural calculations.
9. Calculations for the W! 6x26 are included with the Supplemental Calculations.
10. The detail reference has been changed to 9/S6.0.
11. Detail 20/S6.0 has been referenced on sheet S3.0 (Grid C). Please note the
beams have been revised to W12x30 to match the calculations.
12. The bolt does occur off -center as shown on 23/S6.0.
13. Six reinforcing bars are specified along Grid A as.noted on calculations sheet
G11. The foundation plan specifies (3) #6 on each face (for a total of (6) bars.
14. Details 14 and 22 on sheet S6.0 have been revised to show 24' spacing of
e55beams supporting the deck.

In addition to the plan check comment responses listed above, the following four items
have been addressed at the request of the owner:
1) The Hardy Frame along grid C is specified incorrectly. A corrected Hardy Frame
is specified and detailed on sheet H-1.
2) Calculation sheet L6, L7, and L8 have been revised to reflect the use of the steel
framing panels along grid C.
3) Detail sheet H-1 has been revised to reflect the use of steel framing panels ("S"
series). Details 1 and 11 show the specific details for the 12' plate walls. Please
note that the Hardy Frame "S" series panels used for the shear wall along grid C
are 24" x 12' nominal. Two such panels are placed back-to-back at both shear
wall locations.
4) 'Original structural calculation page L9 has been changed to L9B indicating Hardy
Fame Panels °S" series on foundations. See Supplemental Calculations

Section 26-8 of the Butte County Code required this acknowledgment to be recorded prior to issuance of a building
permit. The property described herein is adjacent to land or included within an area zoned for agricultural purposes, 37 --
and residents of this. property may be subject to inconveniences or discomfort from the use of agricultural chemicals,
including, but not limited to herbicides, pesticides, and fertilizers; and from the pursuit of agricultural operations
including, but not limited to cultivation, plowing, spraying, pruning, and harvesting which occasionally generate dust,
smoke, noise, and odor. Butte County has established agricultural purposes and residents within said zones and on
